Unfortunately this little tool can't be only be downloaded separately but is part of larger Windows packages such as the Driver Kit (WDK), Visual Studio or the Windows Software Development Kit (SDK).A solution to the problem above that was using devcon.exe was already posted some time back in the German section of the MP forum here Microsoft offers DevCon.exe, which allows extended control of devices.Use special software to deactivate and reactivate devices at startup/resume - TO BE TESTED.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\ExecutiveĬhange the value of AdditionalCriticalWorkerThreads to 2 - NOT WORKING.In my case it gives the message that some changes were done and a restart of the computer is required.Under Win 10 the problem solver can be applied to devices in general but not to the eHome receiver in particular.Applying Windows problem solution to the devices - NOT WORKING (for me). Some people reported that plugging a passive USB hub between the PC and the receiver helped - NOT WORKING (for me).has reported that disconnecting and reconnecting any USB device restores the receiver functionality.Disconnect and reconnect the receiver restores functionality.Manually reconnect the receiver - WORKING (but not practical).I tried two different TV remotes pointing at the IR port on my laptop and nothing shows in the eventghost log.A quick search reveals that this seems to be a quite common Windows problem. I get the same result (removing the plugins and readding them.) I tried updating the driver for this ITECIR device from windows update and now it is 5.1.0.6, dated. I added a plugin for each detected device and this is what shows in the log:Ĩ:13:54 PM -> Welcome to EventGhost <-Ĩ:13:54 PM Report length must not be zero for device ASUS LCMĨ:13:54 PM Error reading HID device: ASUS LCMĨ:13:54 PM Plugin: HID: consumer control device In EventGhost 0.3.7.r1462, I added a plugin - Generic HID - and none of the individual detected devices seemed to be working.

Also showing now in device manager are Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver, 3x HID-Compliant Device, 2x HID-Compliant Consumer Control Device. It shows in device manager as ITECIR Infrared Receiver (EC). The software is labeled as "ITE Remote Controller Application for Win7 Version 5.1.0.1." The software didn't install, it gave a cryptic error. I tried to install the software from the Asus download page. I have an Asus G50Vt laptop with a built-in IR device, running windows 7 圆4.
